Citizen's Firearms Safety Course

The primary focus of the Pistol Course is to teach attendees how to safely and effectively handle and fire a pistol. Students will learn firearms safety and become familiar with various types of handguns, rifles, and shotguns in an attempt to aid them in proper firearms identification and function. They will also learn about Alabama’s self-defense laws. Students will spend approximately two hours in the classroom and one and a half to two hours on the range. Upon completion of the course students will receive a certificate of attendance. We will provide you with all of the necessary equipment for this course including the pistol. Please leave your handgun at home. However, if you have these items, please bring a hat, hearing protection and eye protection. Please, no open toe shoes or loose clothing.
